Germany´s most innovative Technological Networks in an overview

Which are Germany´s most innovative technological networks? What is their thematical focus? What are their main activities and which innovative highlights have already been realized? A detailed overview about those issues gives the new annual report 2008/2009 of the Initiative "Kompetenznetze Deutschland"

The Initiative "Kompetenznetze Deutschland" is a measure of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in which the best innovative networks in Germany are collected. Those specify themselves with tracking a collaborative technological development prospect, with integration of science and industry, with opening new markets, with releases of innovative products in short periods of time and with a superior dynamic and efficiency.

The annual report 2008/2009 of the Initiative presents the actual member networks and enables a simple, but also broad overview of the Innovation Networks that are part of the Initiative. Network portraits will describe the main activities, the technological focus as well as the highlights of their projects. Additionally the office of the initiative will be introduced with the strategic orientation, main focal points and aims.

Currently the Inititiative „Kompetenznetze Deutschland“  includes 107 networks which are geographically spread over whole Germany. These networks are assigned in 9 different topics that reach from biotechnology, transportation and mobility over energy and environment till micro-nano-optical technology. 
The membership requires an application at the Initiative that will finally decide about the membership according to general proposals (further information: www.kompetenznetze.de).

The annual report 2008/2009 is a work of reference for all those that want to get a broader overview of outstanding technological networks.
The compact layout enables a selective search within different topics and gives an insight in high-performance intersections of the german innovation system.

The annual report is released today at the international trade fairs „Schiff, Maschine, Meerestechnik“ in Hamburg and „MICRONORA“ in Besançon (France).
