Kompetenznetze.de at ESOF2006
Science speaks European and Science is important. The natural, engineering and social sciences and the humanities help to build new knowledge. The reason of ESOF2006 lies in bringing the relevant people together and sharing the knowledge.
Kompetenznetze.de, an initiative run by the management of FAST and initiated and sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Technology is integrated part of the German scientific world and presented at ESOF2006 with a booth. There experts will explain to the media and the public how kompetenznetze.de functions and which benefit its 130 members can take. Each member is a Kompetenznetz, a cluster of science and enterprises representing the whole extention of the value added chain. 18 fields of innovations in 31 regions and in the whole of Germany are covered. The members of the initiative consider themselves to be the best of its kind. They are eager to deliver the innovation which is needed to help to solve problems such as environmental and climate challenges, infrastructural and energy needs, health issues and social tensions.
ESOF2006 brings together all groups involved in the scientific endeavour, so does komptenznetze.de in an ever wider scale. This includes researchers from different disciplines, policy-makers, representatives of industrial R&D, science journalists and entrepreneurs.
