International Materials Forum 2006
Frontiers in Materials Science & Technology Focus: Materials for Energy Technology
Date: July 31 and August 1, 2006
Venue: Bayreuth, Germany
Organisation: Neue Materialien Nordbayern GmbH; scientific expertise by the Universities of Bayreuth and Erlangen-Nuremberg
Topics:
The International Materials Forum 2006 Frontiers in Materials Science & Technology offers a platform for a high ranking dialogue between the field of industrial development and scientific research including the area of technical and commercial applications.
This year the conference is focused on advanced materials for energy technology, a topic of utmost interest. Energy storage and energy conversion are both discussed for fossil fuels as well as for renewable energies. Topics like high performance materials for turbines and combustion, advanced materials for fuel cells, hydrogen production, storage and use, photovoltaic materials, high performance batteries, materials for wind energy systems, electronic materials for power generation and materials for nuclear reactors are enhanced by outlooks on the visions, trends and technologies for the future of energy and also on energy and sustainability.
The International Materials Forum 2006 is highlighted by two renowned key speakers having a worldwide reputation: Nobel Laureate Georg J. Bednorz, IBM Zurich Research Laboratory (Switzerland), with a contribution on high temperature superconductors and Robert Huber, Max-Planck-Institut für Biochemie (Martinsried, Germany), on energy conversion in biological systems.
Their lectures will be accompanied by invited lectures are given by internationally leading top managers and scientists:
