New Science and Research Search Engine Launched
With www.ForschungsPortal.Net the BMBF opens the door to science on the web.
A new Internet portal provides support to researchers and scientists with easier access to data and literature in the Internet. The www.forschungsportal.net search engine is exclusively focused on scientific publications and science funding. The search engine ploughs through 12 million web pages stored on 27,000 web servers operated by research and other relevant institutions. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has funded the four year project of the University of Hanover with more than 600,000 euros.
In addition, the search engine analyses the Internet contributions to all priority funding programmes of the BMBF, including the industry projects. In order to facilitate contact between scientists, the search engine helps users to identify experts for specific questions as well as to find doctoral theses that are stored in the German National Library.
