Improved biomedical education for Ph.D. students

The medical faculty at the University of Ulm has introduced a new postgraduate programme entitled “International Ph.D. Programme in Molecular Medicine”.

With this programme, the faculty hopes to improve the education of postgraduate students in biomedicine and reduce the time required for a doctorate to three years.

Successful students will be awarded the title of “Doctor of Philosophy” (Ph.D.). As in a graduate college, the students will have to apply for admission, select a research project, undergo examinations and submit a written thesis. Applicants must hold a Master of Science degree, a German Diploma or an equivalent degree in a life science subject or medicine.

The “Ph.D. Programme in Molecular Medicine” at the medical faculty of the University of Ulm is part of the University’s three-stage educational concept in molecular medicine.
