MorphoSys AG and Boehringer Ingelheim expand cooperation

Martinsried-based MorphoSys AG and Boehringer Ingelheim have announced the expansion of their existing cooperation involving both research and therapeutic applications.

Under the new 5-year contract, Boehringer Ingelheim has acquired an option to receive several exclusive licenses on new therapeutic antibody programmes.

Currently, the two companies are cooperating on two therapeutic antibody projects. In addition, Boehringer Ingelheim will obtain access to MorphoSys’ HuCAL GOLD® library for research purposes at a number of the group’s research facilities. Since February 2003, MorphoSys and Boehringer Ingelheim have been cooperating on the development of therapeutic antibodies using MorphoSys’ HuCAL® technology.
