modular3

mod ular3 reduces the throughput time and expense of final assembly times for electrical control cabinets by ca. 70% and the time and expense spent on engineering by ca. 20%! mod ular3 is an interdisciplinary concept with ideal software tools and hardware products that enable the efficient implementation of engineering, assembly and maintenance processes in mechanical and plant engineering and construction.

Our modular system is based on standardised mechanical and electrical interfaces. Electrical functions have been consolidated on metal base carriers to form complete and tested machine-neutral functional units.
They are flexible in use and can be installed as required, either as central components in the control cabinet or, decentralised, directly on the machine.

Complete documentation is available for each unit and includes a circuit diagram, parts list, layout plan and technical data.

This type of standardisation created the basis for the development of our engineering tool which enables, for instance, the semi-automated generation of electrical circuit diagrams. This is achieved by deriving the appropriate information from the mechanical functionality descriptions.

It also covers the configuration of required components including connections to established E, M, Fluid CAD and ERP systems.

In conjunction with the software described above, this semi-automated workflow will allow you to achieve a drastic reduction in routine operations and a more targeted use of manpower in your business.

Your benefits as end user:

1.     Shorter machine downtimes, as replacing modules is easy and quick. No longer necessary to    deploy expert electrical personnel.
2.     Faster error containment and localisation.
3.     Quick and easy to retrofit options.
4.     Changes can be implemented at short notice prior to delivery.

Your advantages as designer:

1.     Our engineering tool significantly simplifies the organisational process.
2.     Avoid redundancies in development and create synergies.
3.     A reduction in routine operations makes more time available for actual development and design
        work.

The TRUMPF Company is behind the idea of the modular3 concept and was instrumental in driving the development of standard and process-specific modules. TRUMPF was also responsible for initiating the concept's system partnership with PHOENIX CONTACT, RITTAL and Siemens.
