Flue gas purification techniques based on low-temperature plasmas are currently undergoing trials in many parts of the world. Some remarkable successes have been achieved, but it has not yet been possible to find a universal solution for all applications.

The complexity of the subject matter and the extent of the problems to be solved call for close interdisciplinary collaboration between different areas of specialization. Several experimental trials in this field, which have been initiated and coordinated by the network, are now in progress.
