The network

Since 1993 the Fördergesellschaft Erneuerbare Energien e. V. (FEE) applies to renewable energy and energy efficiency. The association is a nationwide network for innovation and an important stage on renewable energy for small and medium-sized companies and research institutes. The FEE is involved in different projects, multidisciplinary networks, congresses and symposia. Supported by a scientific advisory council, the agency of FEE is managed in Berlin.

Main activities

The technological focus

The FEE  advances innovative technologies for renewable energy by organising different task groups as gasification of biomass (since 1994), biogenic gases fuel cells (since 2001), bio-methan curatorship (since 2008), energy efficiency of buildings and housing developments (since 2008) and solar technology and photovoltaics (since 2009). Most of the task groups meet more than once a year. They are organised as expert workshops with technological focus and take place on innovative locations. Among the task groups the FEE has a special focus on gasification of biomass, biogenic gases fuel cells and bio-methan curatorship. Above all the FEE plays a decisive role in thermochemical gasification of biomass and biogenic residual material, a most inconsistently developing branch. In addition the association has numbers of contacts in the German speaking area and with this is an outstanding intermediator on European and international level.

Highlights

The FEE  awards once a year the FEE-Innovation Price for renewable energy on the FEE-Innovation Forum. The price is for companies and cooperating research institutes, which support the application of renewable energy sources and their efficiently storage.  Being a nationwide platform for the advancement of thermochemical gasification of biomass, the FEE organises annually get-together for manufacturers. Furthermore in cooperation with the REECO GmbH within the international CEP in Stuttgart, the FEE arranges a series of conferences concerning the state of the technology for combined heat and power.
Since 2007 the FEE has listed all biomethan facilities in Germany, which will be updated every six month.
